The 64th Independence Day of Pakistan is upon us and the people of Islamabad are all set to celebrate this day with zeal and enthusiasm. This year the Birthday of Pakistan will be celebrated in the Holy Month of Ramadan on Sunday, same as it rejoiced 64 years before.
The markets in the federal capital are bustling with exited youngsters and happy senior citizens as the “air of freedom” indulges them with honor and pride and prepare for independence day celebrations 2011, despite the current political and economical scenario of the country. Various makeshift stalls have been opened up in bulk in along the road sides of every bustling periphery of the twin cities: Islamabad and Rawalpindi. You can see national flags, stickers, p-caps, t-shirts, badges, banners, buntings, colorful lights and “jhandiyan” hanging from shops and stalls in Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar, Saddar in Rawalpindi; and the Independence Day celebrations in Islamabad are no less as Blue Area, F-7 Markaz, F-10 and F-11, G-6 (Aabpara and Melody) and Super Market F-6 are laden with “Green and White” colors of the national flag and are ready for the upcoming “Azadi” Independence Day celebrations in Islamabad.
In Islamabad, the Pakistan Independence Day celebrations 2011 will start with the Hoisting of the Flag by the President and the Prime Minister of the country at the Presidential and Parliament buildings and will later deliver speeches live to the Public on television. Tributes are given to the national heroes by raising Flags and fireworks take place across the metropolis. Guards of Honors are presented at the graves of Military martyrs.
People are also looking forward Independence Day celebrations in Islamabad 2011 when all the private and governmental buildings are lit and decorated, sparkling the city with glitz and glam. The national Flags can be seen hoisted on private and public building and the people from walks of life decorate atop their houses and apartments with national flags buntings.
