Fashion industry of Pakistan and its impact on culture

Fashion industry is always considered to be a very vital part of any country as it reflects the heritage, culture and the people of that country. Pakistani fashion has been widely acknowledged globally for a past couple of year. Pakistani Fashion industry is striving hard to make their identification in international fashion scene. It has played a very constructive and optimistic role in building the fashion sense and fashion trends amongst people. There is large number of fashion weeks which run throughout a year like Karachi fashion week, Lahore fashion and Islamabad fashion week which are most famous fashion week amongst them. Large number of fashion channels and fashion blogs has made the people well aware of Pakistani fashion scene. The main focus of all Pakistani dress designers is always to represent a true picture of Pakistani culture whether its dresses, footwear or accessories. Now a days, every designer’s main focus is to blend south Asian and central fashion styles along with the eastern touch. Pakistani designers always showcase some unique and trendy stuff with in Islamic boundaries and Pakistani culture. Mostly, Pakistani women love to wear shalwar kameez, choori daar pajama, lehnga, sharara and gharara. They simply love to promote their culture. So keeping in mind that fact, designers launch different styles of shalwar kameez and other Pakistani cultural outfits every season. Hassan Shehryar Yasin, Umer Sayeed, Sobia Nazir, Nomi Ansari, Munib Nawaz, Mehdi, Deepak Perwani, Ammar Belal, Amir Adnan and Adnan Perdesy are considered to be pioneers  of Pakistan fashion industry. Now, Pakistani designers are known in international market and many fashion industries from all around the globe invite them to show their annual exhibitions. Pakistani fashion trends have gained appreciation and positive reception from many fashion events all over the world.

Pakistani fashion industry is playing a very vital role in promoting art, tourism and boosting country’s economy. It projects the softer image of Pakistan and gives a message to the whole that Pakistan is a peace loving country. This fashion industry has created lot of job opportunities for young designers. It has opened new dimensions for students. Now, fashion freak love to take admission in fashion designing schools where they show their creativity and work as this industry is gaining an image day by day. Government will also open some new fashion designing schools in future keeping in mind its demand and some funds would also be created regarding this.

To conclude this article, there are stereotype opinions about Pakistani fashion industry. Mostly people think that the fashion shows which they conduct depict the extremely opposite side of cultural outfit. They showcase more western outfits which mostly are vulgar and not a part of our culture. On the other hand, some folks are in favor of that industry. There are pros and cons of everything .So, we should accept that reality.
